There had to be differences between the TD-8 and 10. You don't have two different price points and put all of the features of the high price unit into the lower price unit. The only time I could see doing this is when they come up with the TD-12 and discontinue the TD-10.

It looks like they can do updates via software on the TD-8, but I'm thinking they are fairly limited in what they can do. The exp card allows them to add another processor and more memory. This opens up more options/opportunities I would think.

JUST RECEIVED THE BONUS PACK IN THE MAIL.WOOHOO I JUST INSTALLED THE TDW-1 WITH V-CYMBAL CONTROL.......MAN!WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN THE SOUND OF THE CYMBALS EVEN THE PD 9'S THE DYNAMICS ARE INCREDIBLE! MY PD 7 SOUND LIKE A TRULY METAL HI HAT NOW....SHEESH,I REALLY DIDNT EXPECT THIS MUCH OF A JUMP IN SOUND.......<---------ONE HAPPY GUY
