Well you kinda caught me off guard. I guess the main thing is that the cymbal pads aren't dual zone like the Roland cymbal pads. There are probably some other things, but I'll have to get back to you on that.

    Andre,

I will be going out of town for this coming weekend but I will be back by Tuesday next week, can you hold on till then? Let me know if during the next week is ok for you, or we can wait till the weekend.

As far as the foam insert between the cymbals, my hats do not have this new feature; I got mine a while ago. You are still welcome if you would like to try the set if you like.

I probably will want to try the new foam inserts as well, although I play in my studio and stick noise is not much of a factor, but I can relate to your need for home use.

    Let me know.

ok cool szvook - can we setup an appointment to see your set this coming weekend?

I sent Peter Hart an email this morning about this. I also asked about the new foam insert between the cymbals:

    "...
Peter Hart gave some info on the hats:

All ECII hats have a metal top and plastic bottom. There is rubber on 1/3 of the top cymbal. We have also recently added a foam insert between the cymbals, which also reduces acoustic volume. So if quiet playing is your goal, play on the rubber. This is comparable in volume to a pd9. If you want exact acoustic feel, you can play on the metal 1/3.This set up is used when recording or playing live gigs with higher stage volumes.
    ..."

Well interesing guys, but getting back to the topic.

I have the Hart Giga Pro kit with the Roland TD-10. I think the sound mod is awesome and the Hart kit kicks A$$. The high hat is the loudest cymbal. I live in an apt. too. There doesn't seem to be any problem with "waking the nieghbors." However, it might wake the family if they are sleeping. I love my Harts, but there are things i would like them to do that they can't. So, as the good Dr says demo, test, kick the tires for yourself.

As far as "demoing" you can contact Erik at sepdrums.com. He has a new demo program. I bought my drums from him. As far as a demo in a store, good luck. I have yet to see a store with which has even heard of Hart dynamics, let alone have them in stock. I know there are stores that carry them or can order them but not anywhere near here.

PS: Its the picture from her portfolio, after I scanned it I kept the size (makes for a good and clean screen background, my computer screen is 23 inches).

Congrats, man. You know, most guys at best have a picture of their girl, you have a poster. (Either that or she's enormous.) But seriously, congrats.

Same goes for me Dr., your set up is solid. I am just a bit east/north of Martel, borderline with Studio City & N. Hollywood (Ventura & Laurel Canyon).

Ditto. Of the e-kits here, yours is one that I'd like a closer inspection of some time. BTW, I used to live on N. Martel in Hollywood (briefly) when I was on again off again in school at U.C.L.A.
