thanks, that was really the main issue, and its cleared up now

Do you have the ability to tighten the mesh heads nice and tight to get a more acoustic feel?

    hey monkeyd -

one of the few complaints people tend to have about the hart cymbals is the noise so, if that is your main consideration, i would consider going with the roland cymbals. noise is a big issue for me, and so i went with the cy- series and haven't regretted it at all.

    good luck!

    Well thats good to hear.

What about the Roland V-Session, called the TD10 PRO in the U.K.

it has the TDW1 expansion etc...
I considered using hart ecymbals instead of the vcymbals but I really have to have the whole thing silent.

I don't think it is a problem anymore. And I agree, the Eliminator is a most excellent pedal.

I have the double version, which can also function as two completely separate pedals! Without question it is the best pedal I've ever had... but that's my personal opinion, worth about 0.02 euro.

I'm afraid that Pearl weren't exactly telling the truth. The bracket is a well known problem, which they have addressed with their later versions of the Eliminator. My bracket broke about 3 months ago. Pearl said they were aware of the problem and replaced it without any charge.

Thanks for the reply, I think that's what I'm going to do.

Any advice on the kit itself ?

Hey guys, I've been reading the forums for a while - interesting stuff!

I'm just about to get into edrums because my acoustic kit is too loud for university practising and I can't do without drums.

I've been doing a lot of research and am pretty much set on the (new) TD10 PRO kit, which here in england is identical to the V-Session kit in the u.s.a. I was wondering how it compared to the Hart Dynamics kits in terms of feel and features. Their cymbals certainly seem a lot better, though I'll be buying it as a package and there won't be an option to switch cymbal sets.

I just really wanted some advice so I don't make a mistake first time round when it can easily be avoided.

Also, I'm looking to upgrade my Gibralter Avenger double pedal, and I'm having a bastard of a time choosing between the tama iron cobra, pearl powershifter eliminator and the dw5000's. The Tama's seem a little flimsy compared to the pearl's imo though I've not had long to compare them.

    Any advice welcome...!

    Thanks
    Alex
