    Another nice product!

Off course everybody knows these guitar footswitches, but they can be used for changing drumkits too and THIS one is very cheapo!

Just search the word Behringer in a few news groups and you will read that the company is accused of

      1. child labour in China
      2. bad electronic components
      3. not having an eye for copyright laws (Mackie)
      4. a company leader who acts like a dictator and disdains his employees.

Hence Behringer's products are hardly on stock. Logical: you can't trust a supplier when you don't pay the right salary, when (other) inferior companies have to supply the electronic parts and when children work on it

So being cheapo has a reason. If these accusations are right: ban on Behringer!!

        "1. child labour in China"
These are rumours..... nothing more than that. Anybody can spread rumours on the internet.

        "2. bad electronic components"
The components are not equal in quality as the Mackie's, but you can't expect them to be! I think given the price the quality is very ok.

"3. not having an eye for copyright laws (Mackie)"
Who has these days... look at all the copied cd's.

"4. a company leader who acts like a dictator and disdains his employees."
        more rumours?

The fact that not all Behringer are in stock always has nothing to do with salary or children working or whatever. Behringer has a policy which other company's use as well; first they'll wait untill they have thousands of orders for a certain product. Then when there are enough orders they send a message to the people who actually build the Behringer stuff that they need more of a certain product. In this way they only produce products which are going to be sold right away, instead of having huge stocks. This is a very efficient way of doing business and that results in a lower price.
Behringer also likes it to announce new products and start building it after a year. They seem to be improving on this right now, but I doubt whether it will be a permanent thing.

This policy bothers me very much; whenever somebody orders a Behringer product, you never know when it's going to be delivered, unless Behringer Germany has it in stock.
