  • TDW-1 A and B?

I hear there were two different versions of the TDW-1 card. One had more sounds and a few updates, and the newer one has all of that, plus cymbal updates. Is this ture? Is there an A and a B?
The best damn kid in the record industry. Maybe.

    Andy,

In short, yes, but you should really try out the search function. There is plenty info on this out there, and others will "flame" you for asking questions that have answers readily available. (This was discussed again just recently on this site.)

Anyway, there is a the original TDW-1, and then an upgrade was released which is the TDW-1 with V-cymbal control. If someone has the original TDW-1 and wants the latter, Roland will upgrade their card for free.

As far as I know the only difference between them is that the second revision of TDW-1 has a new feature to allow using a 3 zone ride (bell, bow, edge). The rest remains the same, new sounds and a big upgrade of the operating system.

You can buy the 'A' version and send it to Roland. They will upgrade it to the 'B' version free of charge. Most retailers are now selling the 'B' version however.
Don't forget about that search function now!

, plenty of , and , , triggered acoustics, , and a plethora of PA blah blah freakin blah...I mean does anyone care about the specifics of pedals, speakers, processors, hardware or anything that I'm using?? Hmmm, maybe this is an appropriate place to mention that I tried out a new cymbal stand the other day...

You mean I would have to do without my V set while they upgrade it? How long does it take? Where would I send it to? Do I just take the TDW-1 card back out and send it to them? Thanks!

Yeh, but why use the phone book when you can just dial information?

I have heard rumours of such a thing. Perhaps we could ask a V-God for guidance...
