  • Roland Hatched Mounts

I ran across these hatched mounts at the mars music site and I have not seen them anywhere else so far.
They are a quick release system for mounting additions to your rack without having to take apart or remove already installed components. Does anyone use these?
You can check them out below:

I wouldn't bother with these. $65 for a cymbal mount!!! A much better bet would be the Gibraltar-style clamps for under $10, which I'm sure are sturdier than even these new clamps. (Although Roland did take off the sharp corners of the old clamps, which any 2nd-year engineering student could tell you are stress concentrators that will lead to premature fracture!) There are also a couple of models of clamp/cymbal arm combos for under $30, and the L-rods for th e pads run about $5-6 each. So, the Roland hardware is still way overpriced!

          drmoze,
Just to clarify...the $65 cymbal mount includes the boom. Still a little pricy but not outrageous.

Those Sound Percussion clamps were the ones I was referring to. They were $8.99 not long ago, still a bargain at $12.99. And cliff, yes, I was referring to clamp/boom/cymbal mount combos. Most music stores I've been in have them for under $30. I just slipped mid-post from one comment on the booms to another option on the clamp.
