Exactly, that reverse photo shows very well what I'm trying to explain.

Hey everyone, I've been reading this message board for a few months religiously and since I'm about to become a full-fledged member of the v-drum community, I thought I would join the discussion(s). I've played the V-Session a few times at Sam Ash in Lombard,IL. The sales people are pretty nice, although I'm planning on buying online. Personally, I was impressed with the feel of the V-cymbals. I was able to modulate the sound smoothly using the same playing technique for an acoustic cymbal. The choke was right on (after figuring out the best way to grab the cymbal edge). The rack is outstanding, but will it look like that forever? Only time will tell. The hardware was a big improvement, but I'd like to see more metal and less plastic. I would defintely not put it in the same league as the Gibralter or Pearl ICON systems. The cymbals sounds did not sound as good as on the V-Pros though. I know some people here have said the same thing and I think it is justifiable. There was a big enough difference to make me wonder what was "wrong". The HH just plain rocks though! The red on the pads was better looking than I thought - much better than in the pictures, but it's still red (come on, Roland). I've always been partial to the KD-120 so that was a nice addition. All-in-all, it was a step up from the V-Pros but not enough to justify the big price tag - even the $4200 at Midwest Percussion. Nothing new here, just my .02.

You realize of course this will put you in the "price haggling low life" category.

There is no difference in the sounds. There have been no changes made to the TDW-1 cymbals.

Yeah, well, then let's haggle away. If I can save several hundred dollars online, then I will. Then I can spend the money on a BBE, or rack hardware, or whatever.

That's what's weird. The TDW-1 sounds haven't been changed, yet there was a difference. The sales person said he noticed it but couldn't get rid of it by tweaking the TD-10 (and he actually knows quite a bit about configuring the module). They were using the same headphones, same monitor, and the kits were configured the same. All things being equal, there was still a noticable difference in the sound quality. Don't get me wrong, I still have faith. I think it's just a configuration problem, but it is interesting that several people have mentioned this.
