Hi, new member

Hi all,

My name is Patrick and this is my first post. Got into edrumming about 4 years ago with a Sherpa kit and DM5 brain. (been drumming about 15 years) I really find this group informative and friendly and hope I can contribute. Just purchased a Ddrum 4 system yesterday and will be giving a report soon. (so far, awesome) Really did my research this time, and this set beat out all others for me. I was never able to quite swing them before but I found an unbeatable deal at Sam Ash.(get this, 1899.00) My hands will be thanking me after years of those rubber pads. Hope to meet other ddrum users as I will be having some questions I'm sure.

Welcome to the e-drum family. We talk a lot about Vdrums here, as well as - sometimes - about ddrum and Yamaha DTX. But, if you want to be amoungst like-minded ddrum users there is a http://www.ddrums.com site as well.

Welcome aboard! Since you mentioned that you really did some research before otping to go with the ddrum4 system, I'd be curious to know what made you select them over the V's (I'm in the same boat myself and appreciate input from anyone with experience)? Also, that price you got from Sam Ash, was that for a complete ddrum4 system (module, tom/snare pads, cymbal pads, rack)? How did you swing such a great deal on a new set?

I'd say the biggest reasons for my going with the ddrum over Roland were the sounds, feel and quality. Although I loved playing the mesh pads, the ddrums certainly come closer to real drums for me, with amazing sensitivity and dynamics. (real sounding rolls) The ddrum sounds are fantastic. They just don't sound like a real drum sounds, they are real drum sounds, and the library of other sounds is basically infinate. This set feels like something I can grow with, not out of. I'll be able to give a more detailed report when I've had them awhile, as I'm still feeling them out. As for the low price, I just got lucky. I went to Sam Ash on 48th st in NYC and was looking at a used Hart set when I mentioned to the sales guy that I had been unable to find the ddrums anywhere. He happened to have a set in the storage room not on display that he stated he could blow out for me. My lucky day. And yes, a complete set.(by the way, if any one is looking for a Hart accupad set(6 piece 2 crash, ride, high hat), complete with all e-cymbals (metal ride and hat), kick etc. give them a call - only 899.00! Beautiful shape!) Feel free to email me with any questions, I'll do my best.
