  • I asked this on the FB group as well but trying here. Anyone ever have issues with the micro USB port? When I connect to a Win10/11 computer it raises an error and basically states the usb device is not working correctly and has been disabled. The device manager shows it as "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). The port isn't loose or full of gunk. It seems odd to me that it would even see it if the port were bad. I've tried a few different computers and 3 or 4 cables (all are USB 2.0) with the same result.

    • I got an Efnote ride for my Mimic and it is perfect. It's a little better than the ATV ride in feel and edge triggering. It needs full gain to work probably because of the size.

I do hope most company would not hide it from now in 2023 era, especially not at 2500$ price range, it usually to not deceive customers. Only ATV\Roland hide it and for obvious reason, but you can't hide it when playing or triggering on midi note. Even Toontrack don't hide it when you ask them, they posted on their forum. when a car company offers a car with xxxx horse power they name it to get more customers
when the car has mediocre power they tell people it drives fine and provides you with lots of pleasure

I tend to agree with Chris and Robert. Sure, the algorithms can improve the performance of smaller sample pools and round robin pools, but in the end, more of both means more performance.

Drats. Sounds like a warranty matter in that case mate

I get "the best drivers for your device are already installed". Also tried un-installing and re-scanning with the same result. EFNOTE has reached out but I suspect it's a bad port at this point. It was purchased 2nd hand so probably not under warranty unfortunately. I've got a new cable on order just to rule out that part as mine are old generic cables.

                  • Hi all,

I am not sure if this topic already has been discussed, but I have a question regarding the Efnote compatibility with other pads/cymbals as Efnote states on their website "EFNOTE's advanced sensing system "ELISE" is highly optimized only for EFNOTE pads, and does not perform well with other brands.", but elsewehere I read that it should be possible...

So the question is, could the Efnote module (3X/5X with the hi-hat) be combined with Roland thin cymbals and pads from other brands like Roland or Drum-tec? Or will the playing experience be not as great as imagined?

Thanks for any thoughts or even experiences!

Works very well with my older Roland pads, Yamaha cymbals, and SPDSX Pro.

And works with my ancient Roland gear, old 2Box gear (mostly) as well all of my A2E gear. Pretty flexible.

Apropos I'm interested to know with people's experience of using EFNOTE products with different gear.

If the EFNOTE Pro module turns out to be not quite worth the outlay (no reviews out yet!), I'm considering trying the pads (sand hi hat of course) on higher spec modules at the same price point... either Roland Td50 (which will work fine) or an ATV d5 (should work fine), OR Pearl Mimic Pro. Haven't heard reports on the latter. Thoughts?!

So the hint to "ELISE" has just the function to prevent that people will buy pads & cymbals from other companies or is this refering to the "non-Roland-world (Roland, ATV, EFNOTE etc.)" like Yamaha? Just trying to understand what behind it
