  • PD80 and TD8 dual triggers?

I just bought a TD8KV V-Custom kit and was wondering if I could set two different sounds on the PD80 with my TD8? I would like to have a rim sound and head sound just like the PD80R.

Can't be done. The PD-80 is a single trigger pad. Plus the TD-8 as well as the TD-10 can only trigger rim and center sounds on PD-80R/120 on the snare input.

yeah i just upgraded one of my PD80s to an -R version by adding another sensor and a nicely-shaped bit of m
        only cost a few quid..
doesn't work on any other input but #3 though- i think the other inputs can tell head and rim apart on PD6s and stuff but not mesh head pads.

hey thanks again harlock, how do you find the time.
are you french-with-perfect-english or ex-pat in paris? do you gig much there?

that link to "check this out" was fascinating. i think jude wrapped it up correctly by saying that edrums have to be dead, making acoustic ones inherently harder/unsuitable.
wish i'd seen your template - i have the one i made here on my desk..

i'm still stuck with my stupid pd120 triggering thing
... i'm disappointed that only a third of the 120 rim is meant to trigger, and that it's so hard to make brushes work right. i reckon the 80r is better technology especially at half the price. brushes and the whole rim worked straight out of the box. the only advantage of a 120 is better choice over the positional sensing, and brushes (if it worked.... !!)

with retrospect my ideal kit is now a td10, pd80rs, vcymbals and yamaha rs80 rack.

Is this a compliment, Harlock? The Dutch are famous for their multi-linguality (?)

                Is behaviour genetically influenced?

I have worked several years for Shell (a dutch/british company) There were lots of cultural problems that I've encountered over the years. The English mostly think that the Dutch are rude and show no respect for authority (read: managers). The Dutch usually think that the English are nice and friendly when you are in a direct conversation with them, but once you walk away you end up with a knife in your back.

So much for the nurture vs. nature debate. Sorry to take this off-topic.

sounds about right to me, though i haven't met many rude dutch, probably because i've mostly been there on business. obviously i've only ever met helpful ones here.. wheres my knife..
glad i said the differences were only genetic - i'm a nurture person myself on that side of the debate. what were we talking about?

oh yeah, pd80s they're fine as long as you dont hit the hotspot. mmmm, that's realistic...
