  • Sub-Forum Reminder! Technical Questions are not Advice Questions!

If you’re asking a question prior to purchase in this sub-forum, that is perfectly fine.

However, if you are asking a technical question about gear you already own, or even about gear you’re considering, your post will be deleted.

Please use the Technical Forum for technical questions.

    Thank you!

Example of "advice" questions: I'm thinking about getting a TD-30. What do you think?

Example of "technical" questions: I need to know if a TD-30 has a brush snare.

Rule of thumb... if someone has to go look for technical data from their module or manual for you, it's a technical question.

I’m bumping this because way too many “product” discussions are being turned into “technical” questions or off-topic debates. This sub-forum is for buying advice or general discussion about new/old specific products. It is not for asking how to “fix something” or “if a product has something”. If your question can be answered by reading a manual, it is TECHNICAL and belongs in the TECHNICAL forum.

We’ve also had several topics changed by members to talk about off-topic subjects. (interjecting alternative discussion like VST/product alternatives and related technical discussion) Suggesting alternative products to the OP are fine; but changing the topic to talk about the technicalities of off-topic matter is not.

Moving forward, these posts/topics will be closed or deleted when this happens.

Simply put, we are trying to keep topic matter easy to find for everyone. This is why we have two different forums for “general product advice/discussion” and “technical questions”. Unfortunately, we cannot combine or move Product/Technical forums together due to a vBulletin limitation, or we would just lump them all together.

If you have a TECHNICAL question about something, ask it in the TECHNICAL forum, and please do not change topic discussion outside the topic’s title.

    Thank you!
    Alan
