Well at least you have gone through a preparation like that, which should give you some idea for future endeavors.

Sorry to hear that man, but that is part of the biz at times-unfortunately. I hope you still get though.

Well, after a few days of uncertainty, I think the deal is off

Sounds like politics are very involved in this one...

There still is a minute chance, but most likely not...

So, I need to unpack all of my tools, leatherman, new parts, custom case, and acidbran....

Well, on the upside - got a new toolbox with lots of accessories, got organized, and got a real nice custom trap case...

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions!!!!!!

Masking tape, or label stickers of some kind, and pen/marker? May need to label stuff quick.

How about headphones if you need to tweak some modules without amplification?

    That's it. I'm out.

A "leatherman" tool is a pair of pliers that has screwdrivers, blades, can openers, wire cutters...

I've got a Gerber (no relation to baby company) and it works great!

Make a checklist what you would take -being the drummer-. Then send the drummer this list and ask him to check if he has everything packed and if not he should tell you so.

Make a list for yourself too!

Everytime I take my drums with me and take the list I once made, everythings fine. Once I was thinking; yeah I have everything, no need to look at the list. That was stupid because I had forgotten my drum keys.

Erik, you probably already have one, but I have to suggest the drum key drill/screwdriver bit. Cost me about $5 a few years ago, and I can change heads so fast it'll make your head spin! Especially with the high-speed drill, I can remove a tension rod in about 1.5 seconds. When speed counts, in a situation such as this, arm yourself with nitrous!

I'd probably also bring some extra drumsticks, mic cables, hi-hat clutch, kick pedal, and anything else that might break or be forgotten at the last minute and leave someone unable to do their regular thing. I'm sure plenty of heads are already stocked and ready to go! Matter of fact, I might even bring a spare set of snare wires & possibly a whole snare drum. Oh yeah, snare cords/tape & VISE GRIPS!

Man, the list could go on and on... Break a leg, and have a good time with it!

If you have one of those nifty Leatherman multi-tools, bring it with you, as well as a fully charged electric screwdriver (with a spare battery, if you have one). If you don't have one of those Leatherman tools, buy one. Best investment I ever made.
Besides making sure the set and the bass amp are on seperate rugs see if there will be any plexiglas separators between the drums and the rest of the ensemble. If you can use them, use them, makes those classical musicians happy.

Oh yes, and most important of all: Whatever happens, DON'T PANIC!!!!!!!!

What about "gaffer's" tape. I heard from an australian that it was good too. He called it gaffa tape, though.
