More real head or "rubber" kind head?. not sure if they are using mesh head, patents war fiasco, unless it's expired.

I think you can't tell from that short video. Could also be mesh or some kind of similar material.
Seems that toms can't be mounted on the bassdrum (too much crosstalk?). And why only one tom? Other size not ready for presentation?
        All speculation at this moment.

BTW: ATV Sound Store still not open, just a few days left until NAMM...

          New e-cymbals are always welcome!

Good to hear them using module sound in the promo too. Nice samples, even if not nearly enough of them... woes of the previous gen.

It's mesh. You can see the moiré in the second image.

I doubt an ex-Roland company would have patent issues.

Exactely, perhaps the old Roland fox owns the patents
and the problem only exists in the US
nor in Europe nor Japan, the main market for ATV

It certainly does exist in Japan - Roland always patent in Japan and the USA.

The most interesting would be the new cymbal, the rest there is plenty on the market or easy acoustic convertion, in my opinion with their ATV price so far this kit would cost like 2500$ without the module, aframe cost 1600$, ad5 $1100, more expensive than what roland offer for the contents value.

We don't know that the have licensed ATV, do we? That's what's needed. Friendships can change.

Most likely, they were all around when the patent/invention was created, and they came to an agreement that aTV could use mesh without recourse when they split. That's my guess, since they all know each other. There are a lot of ties in those relationships.

Could be possible, also Allan from DD reported the patents should be expired soon too.

So what you're saying is that you know there is a license agreement.
