  • Cowbell or trigger for TD 25K

As some of you may know my son and I are getting a TD25K for Christmas and as its all wrapped up ready we won't get our hands on it until the big day. I've read that with the TD25 you cannot assign pads cymbals to sounds? My question, I have purchased a used Roland Cymbal which will plug into the spare crash 2. I assume that all the programmed kits will therefore have 2 crash cymbals and a ride and therefore this will just enable the second crash. What happens with the spare trigger input. If I buy/make and electric cowbell can I tell the module that I want that trigger to be a cowbell? How does it work?

The "aux" trigger imput can be assigned to any sound, and there are some (not a lot) percussion sounds in the module you can use in that imput.

Thanks for the reply that makes sense. Has anyone used an electric cowbell like the cowpaddy?

No first hand experience with this product. But, it is built the same as any other single zone pad and should work just fine.
I use a Pintech dingbat set as a PD-8 in the module I think. Same technology different shape.
        Have a fun Xmas!

The Roland BT1 triggers very well and can be attached to a tom rim.

Aux will work fine, and can assign any sound you like. I build my own cowbell with piezo trigger inside pvc and works perfectly.
