Did any of you just take a print out from the Drummusic.com website wih all the prices listed right next to the pictures and bring it down to you local Sam Ash or Guitar Center or whoever and see if they will match the price. The Sam Ash store I deal with has very competetive pricing with other Internet music stores and they rarely check into the origin of the website, just as long as it is a legit quote and they just might match the price, it's worth a try all they can say is no.

          Better yet, check out bpmmusic.com:

$219 for new crash, $249 for ride. Free shipping (no hidden customs fees). Fast shipping, with a Roland US warranty.

No brainer, if ya' ask me (and who did?).

Hey, I have been buying from Midwest percussion and they have beat EVERYONE I talked with , plus they are drummers...not guitarists with an attitude.
          I got a TD 8 for a very cheap price.: D

I got a reponse back from them:

            >>It is possible that there will be some
            >>additional import fee. This depends
            >>from Country to Country and State to State.
            >>I suggest you contact your local Customs
            >>office (or UPS) to learn more about it !

Sniffing around the US customs site it looks like maybe the fee is between free and 5%. But I have no idea, I'm going to see if they can help more.

Here is the reply I just got from them:

              > This will only be a few percent... and can > only be a few dollars... nothing
              > to worry !

Sounds good to me. Now ship them bad boys!

So did anyone actually buy anything from keyboardshop.com and get their shipment without any hidden import costs?

I got my V-Cymbals delivered today from keyboardshop.com. Strangely the UPS shipping was really fast. They shipped wednesday and arrived friday.

                  Here was what I paid:
                  1 CY-15R: $161
                  3 CY-14C: $148 each
                  Shipping/handling: $158
                  Customs fee: $44
                  -------------------
                  Total: $807

Compare that with a US store:
                  1 CY-15R: $280
                  3 CY-14C: $245 each
                  Shipping/handling: $0
                  Customs fee: $0
                  -------------------
                  Total: $1015

Not bad. Now I can buy more stuff with the $200 I saved. ;-)

As long as the exchange rate stays good like this, I will be ordering all my future big ticket items with them.

That's right Harlock. I work in a pro audio shop and we sell a lot of Roland stuff. New products come with an english manual only. Then after a few months they have been translated into Dutch and then Roland sends us all those Dutch manuals.

And of course, if it weren't for Peter S. a couple of centuries ago, the US could now be speaking Dutch...

Indeed! That's the reason that we have one cupboard filled with JV-1080, JV-2080, MC505 and much more manuals

Yah, they came with the regular English/Japanese manual that the CY-12H that I bought first from Guitar Center came with.

The bummer is that my TDW-1 is off at Roland being upgraded to have the V-Cymbal control, so I can't play... :-(
