Looks a lot like this unit i've been watching in development, The Jambe:
Pearl Mimic Pro, eDRUMin 10, ATV aDrums, DIY Conversion kit, Roland Handsonic HPD-20, EFNOTE 5 Module (for hi hats), SD3, Porter & Davies Throne -
MArio developed the hardware for Jambe, but it looks like they parted company. There are now two similar products, one mainly for iOS, the other more suited to universal Midi.Comment

In other words, these "hand drums" SHOULD have at least a kick and HH input. I have the HPD-20 Handsonic, and I LOVE the versatility I get out it because it has those inputs. I turn it into a full traditional drum kit for small gigs. I set up in less time than the guitarists!Pearl Mimic Pro, eDRUMin 10, ATV aDrums, DIY Conversion kit, Roland Handsonic HPD-20, EFNOTE 5 Module (for hi hats), SD3, Porter & Davies ThroneComment

Looks like it is intended to be plugged into the DITI to power it's FSRs and control its parameters. Plenty of inputs there for anything you want to add.

Yep, it doesn't look like a standalone product. It's MIDI out, so you'll need a module or computer for it to make sound.DTX700, eDRUMin 4+10, A2E Dixon kit, Yamaha cymbals, FSR HH

Aha, It's a multi pad and you play with it with your hands.
It's a "masterbeater"!
Sorry, it had to be said!"It makes sense if you dont think about it"
Mimic Pro, SPD-SX, 2-QSC K-10s, K-sub, Yamaha mixer, and a bunch of other expensive cool things!Comment

That's not the point. Many percussionists who play bongos play lots of other instruments at the same time. In today's world, there's no reason to have a stand-alone hand electronic drumming instrument. Throw in a couple inputs and make it more versatile. Totally agree. It wouldn't surprise me to eventually see Alternate Mode release the jamKAT version 2.0 with onboard soundcard and a couple of inputs added.Comment

I think you're missing the point here. It's like someone launches a new pedal bike and people criticise it for not having a built-in microwave and washing machine. The jamKAT is a specific product aimed at a specific market. It's not a kit replacement. Alternate Mode makes other products like the the drumKAT and the trapKAT that have those functions. This is a different product.Comment
