I just purchased a new TD 25 module. I am trying to split some of the triggers like you can do on pretty much every other module out there (like make a tom rim into a cowbell), but its not working for me. Is there something i'm missing? ...or is this feature just not available and I should return it?

TD 25 split triggers?

No sound from either split?
It's possible not all modules facilitate splitters 100%; my previous TD-9 did to some extent, but there would be no sound triggered when a split pad was hit together with another dual trigger pad.TD-30 module, PDP A2E (22, 16, 14, 12, 10), Quartz triggers,
VH11 hi-hat, PD125 (snare), Roland cymbals, Peavey KB4 monitor, Audio-Technica ATH-M50
Axis A21 Sabres, Axis A Longboards

Yes, like the snare trigger has a head trigger and a rim trigger that goes through 1 cable. Then using a Y cable to split the stereo 1/4" cable into 2 mono cables (1 for each trigger) then assigning the snare rim to be like a cowbell or something and still have the snare head through the other cable. I've been able to do it in earlier Roland Modules and my Alesis DM10 but I don't see any way to do it with this new module.Last edited by jsnkc; 05-23-15, 01:56 PM.

From another thread on here it seems that you cannot assign different sounds to the rim such as cowbell etc. From what others have said, you cannot do this but I personally have no experience of the TD25 so cannot say for sure. Check out the large thread all about the TD25 as you might find the answer there.
With regards to using a splitter, I cannot say.

That Hosa YPP-117 splitter pictured above WILL NOT WORK with most Roland modules.
The other Roland modules like the TD-9, 11, 12, 15, 20, or TD-30 cannot be split using a traditional splitter like that. There has been a thread in the DIY forum for years and years about a special DIY splitter (that can also be purchased on line) that will split the tom and aux inputs. That thread is here: http://www.vdrums.com/forum/advanced...x-tom-splitter
I have no doubt that special splitter will work. The problem is: If there is no way to select your head and rim instruments separately the splitter is almost useless..... IE: What's the point?Last edited by JmanWord; 05-23-15, 04:15 PM.I could tell you where to stick that piezo! ;)

I would like add to this. I have a TD30 and cannot for the life of me figure out how to split the trigger sounds. I do not mean physically split the trigger. I mean assign to different instruments to the head and rim. When I edit the trigger, the sounds always apply together. I just want to make tom1 head a tom sound and he rim a cowbell sound. I cannot believe that this is so difficult or impossible to figure out.
Also, is there any way to blend two sounds together so two instruments will play with one trigger hit?

Yes...I did look at the 2box and seriously considered it. But it wouldn't work for me cause of the hi-hat triggering they use. I use the Pintech VisuLite hi hats and it doesn't look like there is any way I could get it to work without making some weird trigger box that I have no idea how to make. It seems like there are so many good modules out there that are just lacking one or 2 features that would make them great! If the 2box fixes that problem on their next module, I would buy one for sure!
