For my e-Kit (Roland TD-11KV) I got one Behringer B1200D-PRO, 12 inch, active PA sub, 500 W D-class amp, lightweight, with high-pass filter. You can get it new for US$300 these days. I use it daily in my basement rehearsal "studio" for more than a year now with no issues, it works just fine and shakes my house pretty well...

Just my 2 cents I wouldn't get anything less than a 12 inch for a subwoofer, and that's only if it's a space issue. Otherwise, nothing less than a 15 inch, 18 inchers are better! There are plenty of brands out there that fit that price range, shop around!! EV has a new line of lower prices subs this year from NAMM. There are a few brands that forum members swear by, look in the ONCE AND FOR ALL PA MONITOR thread to see what's up.

    K ;-)

Hiya, What price range is that? It hasn't been on sale for ages so don't know. It was a "200W" thru a 10" speaker, so there's plenty of options that'll beat that spec, depending where you are and what you wan to spend :-)

    KCW-1 subwoofer substitute?

I would like to find a decent used KCW-1 to mate with my KC-550 but I'm not having any luck finding one.
Can anyone suggest a comparable/better powered sub in the same price range that I should consider?
