TD-15KV question

Hello Everyone, In the Roland manual for the TD-15, it tells you the proper way to turn on and turn off module. I also have a master switch for my devices, but I still turn them off individually just to be on the safe side.

Thanks Intruder. The same goes with the TD-15 -- it does not auto power on. For now, I'm going to keep using the master switch and keep my fingers crossed.....

I also have been using a master switch for a long time never a problem. I think one of the concerns is that if you have your amp on or are wearing your headphones you could get a very loud pop or feedback which could damage the speakers or your ears.
My amps are on a separate master switch. The amps / speakers are always last on / first off to prevent any damage. I also never have my phones on when powering up.
Other than that power is power no matter how the device gets it. Some devices such as the TD9 will not power on from a master switch.
If devices were not meant to be remotely powered on / off this way then they should not bury the power switches in hard to get to areas like the back of the device (think rack mounting)!
Just my thoughts.

Hello rdjinaz, Powering the Roland module on and off properly insures that the module reboots correctly without damaging the on-board files. The module pretty much operates as a computer/laptop. It's not good to just shut it down with out shutting it down correctly.

I didn't realize this could cause a problem. Because some of the units do not have an on/off switch (mixer, A/I, headphone amp), I've been turning the system off with a master switch for some time. I haven't had a problem yet but maybe I should be more cautious -- turn off the module before the master switch.

another issue to remember is that on power up, to not 'trigger' anything. no pedals, no bumping open cables either. If you do, the module can end the start up with corrupted values. Generally restarting cleanly will clear them out, but best practice is to start/boot up correctly.

Greetings, I don't know if this is the place to ask, but I'm trying to understand the power-on/power-off sequence outline in the manual of my new TD-15KV. How critical is it to follow this sequence and why is it required? I posted this question earlier, but can't find it or answers, so I think I messed it up. Thanks to everyone for any help.
