  • Wronka's new 2-way adjustable triggers on the way...

    Great idea for DIY'ers.

It looks as if the piezo is mounted at the top under a layer of soft material (felt?). Could be very sensitive. Thoughts?

The 2-way adjustable is new, but Wronka's triggers have always been on top of the foam, not under.

Trigger on top of foam? I'd break that thing it 5 seconds. Seems like a bad design.

No, the trigger is side mounted. I usually pick a spot that I never hit, for example 6 o'clock on a snare, or 11 o'clock on a tom.

I have tried (and liked) having the piezo on top of the foam, and I never hit one directly.

If it were mounted in the center, that'd be another story. But for side mounted trigger, it's not a problem.

I have 7 Wronka triggers, and as perceval says, they are side mounted so you never hit them. They work great immediately with very little fiddling with settings. And no hot spots of course.

These seem to be a new two way adjustable design, allowing the trigger to slide farther away from the rim edge. I think this would be useful for my 16" as I often wish it was a farther in to the more vibrational part of the head. The edge on a 16" isn't too sensitive.
