  • Temp Question

Has anyone noticed that when the module is cold or in a colder environment that the sounds sound different than at room temp? I'm noticing that in my colder basement, the sounds don't have the same depth and volume as when the module has warmed up and been running a while. Is this possible or is it my imagination...
Don't even tell me us old farts still don't have something to say and learn! Just give me some ghost notes and I'll Purdie your brains out!

Playin' for over 50 years (21 years 5 & 6 nights a week) and still lovin' every minute of it!!! TD-12 noob and growing!:p

The module is digital and should not have a warm up period. Now, what you are listening through is another story speakers / headphones may become stiff in colder temps.

Might be more about the monitoring gear.

Carm, you sure you don't have your drums set up in a meat locker, lol! Seriously, I would think that anything electronic would perform better in a slightly warmer temp
If your living situation is such as mine. there might be just that one choice for a location for your kit. I guess you could try aa experiment. PIA. but take your module upstairs one night in the heat, and bring it down and plug it in and see what happens
Anyway. keep those vids coming! Was working on my kick technique yesterday from one of your vids!

Thanks for the responses...I've been listening thru phones only. I keep them upstairs with my computer system and bring them downstairs when I practice or record. Consequently you mentioned that the drums are digital and should not be effected, but I forgot to metion that they are plugged into an analog board, and I'm listening thru the monitor out phone jack after the send. That might be a key possibly...interesting. I'll consult my engineer buddies on this...hmmm.

Just finished a recording session for a client/bud of mine in Baltimore...turned out pretty well I think. No video, but I've got an audio file that pretty good if ya wanna hear a semi mixed product. I do have another lesson coming out...this time on rudiments and fundamentals...I'm in the process of setting up a green screen so that my backdrop doesn't look so...uh...earthy...lol
