  • Underwhelmed Roland SPD SX Wave Manager software.

Wow I thought it was 2014 but according the latest SPD SX Wave Manager software from Roland we are still in the early 1980's .
What a joke this software is.
Anyone else found this software to be very buggy and slow.
I guess I expect too much and believed too much of the Hype yet again.
    Rant Over!

When I had mine I never had any trouble transferring or organizing wav files, It seemed to work quick and easy for me. What exactly are you having trouble doing ?

I plug in SPD-SX into computer using Windows 7 64 bit via USB, launch SPDSX wave manager software and as soon as I click my mouse on a pad icon it seems to get stuck and it asks three times for every action with the same little window popping up no matter where you click your cursor.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled latest version with no difference.
I have rebooted SPD-SX and Computer to no Avail it does the same weird thing with the pop up window every time.
I can still edit sounds to the pads but it is very frustrating and not as easy as I would expect it to be on a current software from Roland.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled I have given up counting and I think the problem is with the driver loading the driver is not loading properly.
I even ran a malware sweep just to make sure it wasn't one of those pesky things.
          Still not having much luck!
Will contact Roland Australia and see if they can help me.

Probably will be on Holidays may be Monday of next week before they will get my email.

My experience with it mirrors yzf125's: nary a problem. The only obvious difference I can see is that I used it on a 32-bit Win 7 box, not a 64-bit.

This morning I downloaded and installed the newest drivers for My AMD Radon chipset video card.
I then opened my SPD SX wave manager software and it seems to be playing nicely now, no extra screens or needing to click on each screen three times to get anything to happen.
Samples are being cleared straight away with one click and one click to delete waves as it should have been right from the start.

Just another heads up really, sometimes it is not the main program at fault at all, turns out to be some other vendors driver causing the problem.
Everything working correctly now Problem Solved!!!!
Thank goodness now I can get back to making music.
                Cheers

I came to this forum to see if I was the only one that thinks this software is GARBAGE. I have a Macbook Pro that is awesome with everything I do. But this software is a nonstop spinning pinwheel from hell.

It doesn't like my Imac. Never has. 4 years now. Won't always connect, won't always stay connected and yeah, the pinwheel of death. It often takes 20 seconds to do something that should take .25 seconds. Like, you load a file and click on it to drag it into a kit......twenty seconds being hypnotized by the spinning wheel, then you can do your task.

You can't operate all the settings from the program either and have to make all the necessary adjustments on the machine. Silliness.

Kicking this thread back to life. My Wave Manager crashes when I try to import a wav-file. It worked fine on Win7, but I had to upgrade to Win10, and now this. I have a 64-bit, 3 years old Intel i7 laptop. Any ideas anyone?

                            Hi Guys,

You can use this http://www.spd-sx-editor.com/, more advanced and the developer release many update with new feature. Too bad that Roland don't make advanced software and supports their gear, Yamaha are years ahead in this department!

Hey nice work Chris. This is light years ahead of the vendor software. I downloaded the software, it worked great and I bought a license...
