VH-11 on Roland TD4 Problem

My VH-11 (bought used) does not get to the closed position, it gets stuck on half open position when pressing the pedal all the way...
when setting up the module, on vh11, shows the following screen

in the manual says that you need to tweak the offset adjustment screw until the screen gets to the [ ] position..., and i did, but it didn't work, the half open position is as far as i can get.....

please help me, even if it involves opening the cymbal. Also, i use toontrack's superior drummer, so if there`s a software trick to change the half open, to closed sound, it would be helpful too
