Cannot update my TD-8

Hey, I purchased a TD-8 on ebay and it's been working fine. However, I want to download the update from Roland as well as some Vexpressions sets. I've not had a problem with downloading the files. All the correct light flash when they should and the download completes, then I close the file transfer tool and restart the module. Despite the fact that I've put three new 2032 batteries in the unit, when I turn it back on I keep getting the "Backup NG! execute factory reset" message. The batteries are new and I'm sure that I'm downloading correctly and have followed the instructions.
Can anyone help?

Execute factory reset and then update .......... very carefully,

(And only put one battery in the unit )
