FD-7 Not responding

Just set up my kit after a show and my FD-7 is not responding. I've swapped out cables and tried different banks and i'm getting no response. I'm using a TD-20. Is there a way to disable the hi hat pedal? Never had this happen before and the pedal has shown no signs of issues.

You're quite sure you've got it plugged into HH CTRL, not HI-HAT or FOOT SW?

To disable it, switch the Hi-Hat instrument to FIXED in each kit (TD-20 manual, Page 33).

I got one for my hybrid kit with a TD-4 module after the FD-8 that came with it was stuck open. I had to go in and mess with the sensitivity and then it worked fine.
