  • How do you unlock the backing instrument loops?

The manual doesn't have anything about the lock or how to unlock that I can see. I googled it too but no luck. I'm not talking about the sequencer drum beats, I'm talking about the bass, piano and other instrument loops. Does anyone know how to unlock them? Thanks.

Not sure what you mean. Is this a midi loop or an audio loop. What program are you trying to use them in?
Roland TD50x with part td20 rack and pads. SD3 with various kits. Pearl Masters Kit, Yamaha 9000RC original natural wood finish. Cymbals from Zildgian Pasite and Sabian. Loads of percussion bits. Cubase and Wavelab always current versions. RME Babyface pro fs audio interface

Not a midi loop. You know how when you hit a pad it can set off a bass line or horns sequence. They play a pattern in different styles. On my TD12 they are called backing instruments and they have a pad lock icon turned on, so I can't adjust anything. It's one of the settings under sequencer ( I think ) I'm at work and don't have the unit here. Anyway, I want to activate them and see what all patterns are loaded, but I can't get to them.

I don't remember which screen the padlock appears on, but:

Using Preset Patterns (TD-12 manual, Page 53)
Although you can confirm various settings for Preset patterns, you cannot change the settings. You also cannot record [to] these patterns.
If you want to change, edit, or record any Preset pattern settings, copy them to a User pattern (p. 67).

Thanks, but I still haven't figured it out. It's basically under the patterns and then I think it's F2 where it shows backing instruments and loops. The manual doesn't say anything about the lock or how to unlock it that I can see. It's not a big deal really, but it's sometimes fun to play with a backing loop (band).
