I've been struggling with getting my TD30 converted A drums (Vexed) to sound like all those great sounding Vexed kits on youtube. I believe the problem may be my settings, yet nothing I do makes much difference.
From the Vex "Strike" readme (my issues highlighted in red):

If you are having problems with your pads not responding like normal, your rim features have been shut off or
seem quiet, or Strike sounds muffled with low dynamics : check the following: <----- (this is exactly my problem)
1. Most important: Check all your trigger bank settings so that they match your pads exactly. <------ (not really applicable with converted a- drums, yet a crucial factor.)
This will fix 99% of your problems with triggering, sound, etc.

So I guess my question is what pad settings should I use for my 5-peice a-drums? I have been using PD-125 and KD-140.
