roland td 11 vs td 11 kv s

Is it just that one comes with mesh heads and one doesn't? If so can mesh heads be added later? And how much do they run? There is an almost $600 difference between the two models. Seems steep for just mesh heads?

Technically, the td11 is ONLY the module. I assume you mean td11k vs td11kv. they both have mesh head snares, here are the specifications for both for you to compare and contrastL

amongst other things, bigger cymbals and dual zone toms for the kv,

The TD-11K only comes with single zone rubber toms. I started with this set and have upgraded all the pads to larger mesh head pads while keeping the module.
