Adding splash cymbal to my TD-11K

Hi All,

I've been thinking of adding a splash cymbal to my TD-11k set. I just cant be sure if I'm thinking the right kits/pads to buy and how i'd set it up. Im sure it's pretty simple.

I'm thinking of buying the Roland CY-5 12" V-Cymbal Dual-Trigger pad and configure it as splash and the Roland MDY-12 Cymbal mount. Since the TD-11K comes with the extra trigger (wire connector), I'll hook that connection to the CY-5 cymbal. Everything will be set-up in the MDS-4V drum rack.

Please comment or give suggestions, or I if might get into problems with these. I'm new to e-drums.

To me, this sounds fine.

Your setup of the cymbal will be fine however, the cy-5 was really made as a hihat and will sit / swing kind of funny. It is a little heavier on one side than the other. It is also really 10 inches.
I use one but have it on a aquarian spring that I modified to work.
The cy-8 is 12 inches made as a crash with choke same price but only single zone.
The cy-12 takes care of all the problems but is twice the price!
It just goes to show, it's always something right?

Or a Trigerra cymbal. That might cost less since you are looking at a single zone splash.

After browsing over some threads, I get to check the Triggera cymbals... Now I'm thinking if I can add 2 more on my kit, 1 splash and 1 china which they offer. Is it still possible?

That sounds like a better and more cost effective choice however, you may need a splitter to add 2 things.
One of the drawbacks of the TD-11 (tough to expand).
