I'm having trouble with the bass drum cutting through during live performances. I know it needs to be in a differently frequency than the bass guitar so does anybody have any tricks on tweeting any of the stock bass drums?

ok, I have a dedicated pa to my drums and had a similar problem. my personal preference is a low thump sound thats quite high in the mix. With me it was more about volume then frequency, What levels are the rest of your drums set at? When I looked all my drums were quite high up around the 100 volume mark so I was left with very little headroom to adjust the bass drum. I dropped the rest of the kit down to about 60-70 and then turned the bass drum up and it now cuts through fine with a nice rumbling thump. what bass drum are you using on the td6? as there is the eq setting in the edit section where you can give it some more cut.A2E Natal Arcadia jazz, 18 kick,pd85 high tom,12 floor and 14 dual zone snare, triggered by 2box trigit, powered by td6v and tm2 layered via midi. cy8, cy12,vh10 cymbals.

Thanks I primary use 76 Rap. I went to edit and tuned the pitch up. I have almost all of the drums set on 100. I will check it the next time I play out and use these 2 as modifications. The eq setting in only available on the entire kit unless I'm missing something. Thanks again for your help.Roland TD 6 XST with extra CY and mesh pad.......also using a 22" acoustic Pacific bass drum with a Rolland trigger.

one more thing i forgot to mention was, i send all my cymbals out to the right output and my bassdrum and toms out the left output. then on my mixer i can have the right channel with highs for sparkling cymbals and the left channel with more bass for thumping bass drum and toms.the trick then is go back to the module and pan things like the snare drum slightly right for some top end,the hi hats slightly more back to the left for a clearer chick sound. it cleaned up my sound alot doing that. eg my snare is R4, floortom L8, high tom L4 and hi hats R4. Gives you more control over the final sound cos we only have the two outputs to play with.A2E Natal Arcadia jazz, 18 kick,pd85 high tom,12 floor and 14 dual zone snare, triggered by 2box trigit, powered by td6v and tm2 layered via midi. cy8, cy12,vh10 cymbals.
