  • The Blackbird I currently ride is just a stock '99 injection model, stock red colour. Had a black one a few years ago - I prefered black, after all, it's a "Black"bird , was also a '99-er, but had an accident with it, you know, like when cars get out of a parking lot but don't find it necessary to check if the road is free... Luckely no harm to me, except a painful shoulder for some time... No pics of the current bike, but doesn't matter, it's as stock as can be… Well, no, after all, I retrofitted it with Givi-cases, the same ones as in this link: http://www.chaosreigns.com/xx/. This summer over here was waaaayy to hot to ride… The solution I had (to still be able to wear the motorcycle gear) was to have a perforated jacket and trousers, and under the perforated jacket, I wore a wet t-shirt, a very stupid, but very effective solution! Have you ever tried a more sporty-seating position? Looking at Cand - O, I think a Blackbird or the likes would be easier on the back... Ehm… what do you see as "old"?

Bikes can be good for a drum kit... athough Belgian legislation won't allow this I think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W73uvMPDck; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eJFiPt8eLo. Or even this: . Well, OK, a side car is included, but still…

Candy-o is just right for my back!
The Blackbird would be trouble or worse for me.

          • I'm nearly 70 and I do feel so old. Just looking at my kit here now I'm thinking I want to play but I know that at this time of night, now 12.34 pm, I would only last about 10 mins, and that I would suffer for it for the rest of the night.

If nursy was here it would be oh so much different. She knew how to massage my aches and pains away, and she knew what drugs to give me. Now I just do a lucky dip sort of thing, and know in the morning if I got it right. ie if I stand up and stay standing up it was right, but if I stand up and fall over it was wrong.

            Simple aint it.

            • Been away some time again… first of all, best wishes for 2019 guys!!

As far as age is concerned, age is only a number! You are only as old as you feel . I don't know about you guys, but I can tell you, since I picked up kettlebelling, man... I love it, and there are clear benefits to it, no matter what your age. Tip: before you start, check out some decent online vids/take a course. It's great (!) for the back, but only IF you do it correctly. But I can tell your from first hand, I once got home from work, aching lower back. Decided to pick up the kettlebells nonetheless --> pain was gone! I'm much more flexible than I was as a kid/teenager, 20's etc. All thanks to kettlebelling and some Bulgarian Bag work from before I bought my kettlebells.

              • Nursey told me I am only as old as the women I feel and I am inclined to believe her. I keep telling myself I'm not 70 but no-one wants to argue the point.

                • Talking about nursey, the other night I was sitting watching a rerun of Top Gear, the 51st rerun, well it still makes me laugh. It was the episode out in the State where they created a picture of a p-nis and a pair of nuts in a storm drain, just using wheel spin and tyre burn. Anyway I was sitting there with a glass of Scotch and a bag of crisps, (salty ones are the only ones I like), when there was a knock on the front door. Well I thought, 'who the b-oody hell is that at this time of night', so I downed the scotch and hobbled out there, opened the door and guess who. Yea it was Nursey, after all these months. I said ' come in and take a load off ' have a drink and a sardine sandwich. (OK so I had heard that she had been thrown out of the brothel for soliciting there clients for private sessions but you cant believe everything you hear can you). So we sat talking till the small hours, had some more scotch and some pills that she had tucked in her knickers and all was good again. Just like old times. (Well the ones we could remember anyway), and it was getting quite late now and I did not want to see her out walking the streets (though evidently that's what she had been doing ever since she left me 6 months ago), I offered her the spare bed to stay the night. Well I did not want her in with me cause I did not know where she had been. She did not smell to good. After about half an hour I was still lying there reminiscing about old times when there was a knock at the door. I thought 'what the f--k now', but went and opened the door anyway and there was a que of guys, all asking ' is Nursey in'. Evidently all the guys that she had solicited from the brothel. I just could not be asked anymore, Too knackered, I said 'she's in there, last one out please turn out the light and shut the door', and went back to bed. Why do I even bother. All I want now at my age is a quite life.
