Thats the word mate. I retired 2 years ago and if it was'nt for these e-thingies, I would have gone nuts ages ago.

Yea so I am nuts anyway. I mean then that I would have been even more nuts.

I hope to retire in around 5 years max. I play in an original band now but gig very little. By then I want to get out and play weekly doing covers again. Trouble is I'll be competing against my son who is rapidly getting close to me at 14 so I may be ferrying him about to gigs. Never intend to retire from playing though :-)

Its OK if you still have the stamina for it. I struggle to clear 4 numbers now and thats here at home.

I suppose with the adrenalin on stage, I might extend that a bit but back in the day, ie three 1 1/2 hour sets, there is no way now.

1.5 hour sets? No way!! Should be 4 each of 45-50 minute sets...that's a standard 4 hour gig.

My dream is to retire in about 9 years and continue to play drums even more.Maybe not AC/DC, but just to play music.

Last year, saw a small blues band play by the bar in the restaurant. Youngest guy had to be 65. Drummer, had a very small 4 piece, with a ride. Man, he looked happy. Now THAT is inspiring.

              I want that shirt

I am taking drum lessons so I can play decently when I retire. If my plan works I am less than 2 years away.

                    Nice one!

Seems like every year I get older but retirement age does not get any closer. What's up with that?
I have been saying 5 years to go for the last 2 years I think.

Dammit, Jim I'm a drummer not a mathematician!

We just need more guys named Jim on here that it can be used with.
That was the second time I've done that to him.
                        It never gets old!
Love the shirt by the way.

Back in the day mate you did what ever was on offer.

I remember one gig in a night club, we started at 10 pm and finished at 4 am with no breaks.

When we finished they gave us a meal of egg and chips.

I asked for a slice of bread and butter with it and Im still waiting for it.

Done some all night jams but that was a whole different ball game. Enjoyable !!!!!!!
