  • vdrums site Google search engine?

    Hi,

Before the site update I used to use this link to the Google custom search engine:

If I go there now and enter something as simple as "Roland", nothing comes up.
Can someone point me to to the proper location for the Google search engine?

    Thanks!

I have the thread hidden at the moment because I am waiting for Google to populate the data. I do not know why it's not doing so. The new link would be: http://www.google.com/cse/publicurl?...11:ajv3oxw8qh8

    Again, it isn't working properly.

I think it's broken because vdrums.com/forum no longer exists, only www.vdrums.com/forum.

So it either needs a DNS entry without the www to be restored, or someone to create a new Google Custom Search pointing to the forum URL including the www.

No, all that has been fixed, but I believe it's because of the new database/JS platform. I have to check with vB to see if Google can get the forum's posts with this new platform. The DNS address was fixed. I also created the new link above several weeks ago.

I've added vdrums.com to the search index as well to see if it helps. Regardless, it does not seem to be finding urls to process. I have verified the sitemap exists and Google is getting it. I am unsure why it doesn't work.

The Google issue has to do with our site map. I'm trying to get vBulletin on it. We've lost all results in Google until they get this fixed. I've checked everything else. Everything is set correctly.

vdrums.com and vdrums.com/forum are not found in IE or Chrome.

              What was fixed in DNS?

Yes, both are active. During the move, the DNA accidently deleted the default without the www. Ben added it back a couple of weeks later.

                  That's a biggie!

So, right now, Google has no pages from vdrums to dsiplay?
Anyone not a member looking for info on e-kits will not find vdrums. That's major and hope vBulletin is on it right now!

If it's a vBulletin bug, they will lose many sites.

I know. I submitted a ticket today to get a remedy ASAP. I had been waiting for Google to crawl the site, thinking it just needed to update the forum/forum change, but I had not checked for sitemap errors. Yesterday, I found the actual error message. (was in a different section I had not been checking) So, I've sent vB the error message and asked that they give me a fix ASAP.

It appears Google accepted the sitemap today without errors. I had to rebuild it manually. It will still take time for Google to crawl the site and get us back into the engine results. I will continue to check periodically, as I still think the external site search isn't working for some reason. (although every possible setting is correct)

The Google search engine issue was remedied a couple of months back. The link can be found in the stickies in the Lounge.
