  • EZ Drummer $29

Sweetwater (and I am sure other places) has EZ Drummer for $29:

Maybe a good opportunity to get your feet wet on VSTs if you have been on the fence!
    Yamaha DTX-502 / (3) PCY155 Cymbals / HH65 HH Pedal
Roland KD-9 Kick / DIY Snare (1 zone with DTX...)

Can you setup four toms with EZD? I'm running a TD11-KV with a drum splitter for my fourth tom. Also have an an extra crash.

    Thanks,
    SKK

EZDrummer, and I think all VSTs, just take in MIDI notes that are triggered. So a drumsplitter will be sending the corresponding MIDI notes for RIM and HEAD, and you map those to any drum you want, or cymbal... or cowbell... anything.

I don't use EZDrummer, but I am sure you add and reconfigure drums like Superior Drummer.

I guess my question is can you add some other percussion instrument to the fourth tom, then configure it as a tom - similar to the way BFD eco works?

Thanks for that, I bought a copy, I am starting down the path to learning VST's so I can buy a 2box module for my next major upgrade.

          Mini-kit: TD-9 + Alesis Control Pad + Alesis Sample Pad + PDX-6 snare
Micro-kit: Handsonic HPD-20 + an old pair of hands.
Speakers: QSC-K10 "thumper", DBR-10 "little thumper"

For those that bought the $29 EZDrummer, you can now upgrade EZ to Superior Drummer for $99. This is essentially what I did last year when they offered EZ Drummer and the SD Crossgrade together for $129. Normally SD is over $220 or something like that.

Many retailers support this pricing, but here is an example:

            Yamaha DTX-502 / (3) PCY155 Cymbals / HH65 HH Pedal
Roland KD-9 Kick / DIY Snare (1 zone with DTX...)

Excellent! It is also a really great way to understand how VSTs work and what they are capable of. Now I am waiting for some EZX sale, which happens often. Looking for Latin Percussion to add some new sounds.
