  • Software for measuring velocity

Does anyone know of a software that could be used to measure velocity of each trigger hit in real-time? Nothing else required, just need a way to adjust the sensitivity of each trigger since the TD-3 module doesn't actually report velocity directly.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Any DAW that does MIDI will measure velocity. The info is contained in the MIDI notes that you lay down on a MIDI track. You can demo Reaper for free and it will do this - http://www.cockos.com/reaper/

    Good luck.

Sounds like something I may have to write. It would be pretty easy to display any MIDI signal coming in.

        MIDI OX (pc) http://www.midiox.com/

        or

        MIDI Monitor (mac). http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

Both are free and very useful tools to have.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I will look into Midi OX or Midi Monitor. My DAW software will show midi information (as was suggested) but I am not sure it is in "real time". I am looking for something that would just give a big read-out on the screen like a speedometer so that I can monkey with my module sensitivity settings while striking a pad.

          Thanks,
          Dan
