    Atom powered netbook for sampling / synthesis?

    Has anyone tried using one of the new Intel Atom processor netbooks for sampling or synthesis? The single core 1.6 GHz processors aren't that powerful, but I'm wondering if they are enough. A $500 computer with a trigger to USB interface and sample library would make a very attractive combo.
