  • Superior drummer 3 w td27 help

Decided to get superior drummer 3 hoping to get better recording results with td27, followed all the instructions (I think) and nothing’s working - td27 is not triggering sd3.
    Can anyone help please?

Where are you trying to listen to SD3 from? When you open SD3 can you click on a drum and hear it? what are you using as an audio interface?

could do with a bit more detail to be able to help but first make sure you gave selected your audio interface in SD3 and are using the asio driver. Make sure midi us also selected from the td27. If you are using the td27 as an audio interface then you will need to monitor from the td27. If you have a separate audio interface on/in the computer then you will have to monitor from the interface or the computer.
Roland TD30 module on TD20 kit SD3 with various kits. Pearl Masters Kit, Yamaha 9000RC original natural wood finish. Cymbals from Zildgian Pasite and Sabian. Loads of percussion bits. Cubase and Wavelab always current versions.

I’ve tried connecting Td27 usb/computer to Mac, and also midi cable to audio interface but when strike a pad there’s no visual trigger on the kit in sd3 so not just an audio issue?
Don’t know what’s asio driver but I have a driver for td27 I’ve been recording with daw fine

Have you tried it in standalone and in your DAW? Do neither work? In your DAW if you record from the midi in do you record the notes? You should be able to check in an editor. You need to check midi is working first then move onto SD3

Never used midi before which may be the problem - tried in the daw and standalone - just seems like everything is working but one thing is wrong and no signal between things

You don’t say what DAW you are using but you can usually see if midi is hitting it in the monitor.

so the td27 should appear as a midi in. Take a look in SD3 settings when in standalone and make sure you have selected the td27 midi in. This is if you are using midi over usb from the td27. If you are going via midi in on your audio interface then make sure that is ticked. To be honest in SD3 you can tick them both and it will use either.

in your DAW it’s the same again. In settings make sure you select both midi inputs so you can use either (this time it’s a DAW setting not in SD3). When you then open SD3 in the DAW make sure you are using the correct midi input or select any/all if you have that option ( I use Cubase which does)

have you changed the td27 setting to Vendor USB mode? you need to do that when using USB/Midi. And also have the latest Roland TD27 USB driver installed on your computer.
