  • Ableton Live and Roland TD-3 module

Hello all, Has anyone used a Roland TD-3 with Ableton Live software? What are your results? Did you have any difficulties with latency?

What is it you are trying to do, Trigger drum VST's ? or recording midi ? You will find that the Latency will come from your audio card or lack of one.

Hello yzf125, I'm trying to trigger the sounds in Ableton Live using my TD-3 as a trigger to activate sounds in Ableton. I've tried using a Tascam US-122 USB/Midi interface and I've tried using a Midi to USB cable, and I've tried using Asio4all drivers. I still get latency when triggering the sounds in Ableton. I also get latency when using onboard sounds in my TD-3.

You are getting noticeable latency from just playing the module direct ? Something doesnt sound right with that, also what did you have your buffer set to on your sound card or Asio driver ? A high number will give you more latency as a lower one gives you less, try setting it to the lowest buffer rate possible without popping.
