  • Upload songs to the TD-6V?

OK. I have a question concerning MIDI and the TD-6V module. I know it is not possible to upload completely new drum samples the module but what about MIDI songs? I do not know a lot about how MIDI works beyond the basics. But could I upload a song to the modual and have it triger the song from a pad? I know it would not react like a drum and velocity would make no difference in sound but is it possible? Basically I am in a 3 piece band and one song we are doing has a vary pronounced couple of notes from a sax. It does not have to be exact but just wandering if I could trigger the notes from my drums somehow.

Yes, it's definitely possible; you record to a new pattern on the module. Even the velocity difference can be achieved if you want with Pad Pattern Velocity (Page 63). And there are four sax voices available (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone). It's may easier to trim the file to just the measure and part you need first with a computer MIDI editor. You would need to decide whether to start the note sequence from a pad at a preset tempo, or tap the pad for each note.

Sweet, The song is "Overkill" by men at work. The entire song is a vary easy beet what I call a "drunk monkey song" so triggering each note would be easy. There are just 4 sax notes that if not there are really noticeable.

Could someone help me out with this.

I do not know how to record to pattern. Or what software to use. Can I record actual audio or just a Midi instrument? The only sax I could find is listed as a backing instrument but I do not know how to assign it to a pad or if its posable. About the only thing I know about MIDI is how to change my Vexpessons sets around with VdrumLib.
