  • v-kit trans problem

    Aloha Vdrummers.

After 5 years of banging away on my modified
remo pads and D-4, I have recently graduated to a hybrid, Roland(7,8,10,12), Yamaha, Gibraltar kit powered by the TD-10.

I love the TD-10. I had forgotten what accents and rimshots sounded like!

Now that I have run through all of the TD-10's presets and done some modifications of my own,I want to hear all the custom kits that have been created in the V-kit trans file.

But when I try to load the V-kit Trans Utility file, I get a message "cakexp.exe.
file not found". I have searched my hard drive, this file does not exist. Thus, I can't open the utility.

My system is a Gateway 2000, running win98
with Cakewalk Home Studio 8 installed. I have not yet connected my midi cables to my TD-10,
but, I don't think that this should affect my ability to load V-kit Trans?

Any advice from my more PC saavy Vdrummers?

    AD.

I think you should, though. VKitTrans only works when it can discover a MIDI connection and a TD-10. The first screen of the programm also asks you to accept the settings. So...
