  • Error Message on startup

I just downloaded VKitTrans, and when launching the application (double clicking on VKitTrans.exe) I get this error message:

Exception EAccessViolation in module VKitTrans.exe at 00022A33 Access Violation at address 00422A33 in module 'VKitTrans.exe'. Read of address 000000CC

I am using Windows NT Workstation 4.0 with service pack 5 installed.

I have a gameport midi connection to my td10. All are connected. I have midi drivers loaded and installed.

It looks like a problem with the actual memory assignment on startup, so the application isn't even given an opportunity to launch. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Okay, I managed to fix this problem, didn't have any midi drivers loaded... my bad :-(

Now, when I launch VKitTrans, it starts up normally, I enter a user name, and then in the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT drop down boxes I have my: GENERIC MPU-401 midi device. My TD-10 ID is 17... the TD-10 is set on the "Kit" menu as instructued, and when I click "OK" in VKitTrans, I get the error:

    ****** NO CONNECTION YET ******

error message. My connections are solid, the midi cables are 2 days old, and I do not have any aparent system conflicts.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks very much!

My only guess would be to make sure the MIDI out isn't going to an internal device. Most soundcards provide an internal synth to play MIDI, and you'd want to make sure the MIDI output is not going to it.

I can email you a debug version of VKit that may help pinpoint the problem - just let me know.
