Thanks again Chris. My only complaint (and it isn't really a complaint) is that due to alphabetical sorting, the Zep kits end up after the VEX kits now. ;-)

I plan to dig into your kits tonight and even more so this weekend!

The easiest solution would be to open the folder with the kits on the computer before importing to the Mimic, Change the Zep kit name, by simply putting a dif. Letter or word (that comes before V) before the Zep ...... solved. And you can choose where the Zep kits appear in your User list simply by choosing the letter or word preceding the old kit name.

I could tell you where to stick that piezo! ;)

A great idea, maybe "LedZep"...even better if Chris does that so all future updates of his kits end up in the same place. ;-)

ChrisK, Thank you for the updates. A couple questions:

                1) are most of the cymbals and their settings an array that you rotate between kit
-Is there a list for them
                2) when copying a specific instrument and give it a name, can that name be seen somewhere when building a new kit
                3) how do you make an instrument that has all the dynamics desired, but make it "dry"

Thanks again, the cymbals are fantastic!

                  Hi,
-There is no real list of them, I don't remember how I set them for each, but you can use the same kit and change the kick\snare\toms\ and start a new kit from these.
-No name is given on edit kit, you will see the instruments brand\logo.
-You can do it manually on individual instruments( take more time, using room mic to -15DB etc), or only use the Master\Headphone MIX, Room\Reverb\OV fader to lowest value\off setting.

Thanks for the reply. So Mimic has no way to link the base instrument and the edited (newly named) version? How do you remember which iteration is used for each kit, since all you see is the base instrument name when editing a kit?

No, preset are only setting, from the original instruments logo. It's better to use your ears then name, your copied new instruments are at the end of the list of instruments, all presets are there, when selecting any new preset, you can make audition of the new sound pre selected on the fly while hitting on triggers, you will see immediately the sound you are looking for, then you can save or cancel for the new kit change.

                        Chris,

I just wanted to say thanks again. Your kits are fantastic. I planned to go through them this past weekend, but as I hit each kit I end up getting inspired and end up playing for 5 or 10 minutes before trying the next one. Therefore, I've still got a long ways to go before getting through them.

As I do this, I take note of which ones I love so that I can come back to them, copy them, and customize them for the rest of my pads. Once that is done, they get added to my "main" set-list which is where I keep the kits I use most often. To date, your kits occupy the vast majority of my "main" set-list. So, once again, thank you!

                        -Kevin
