  • TD-11 Master Volumes 1 & 2 Now Available (...and a little other VEX news...)

Just thought I'd let TD-11 owners know that I added Chris's new expansions tonight. There are 50 new Artist kits split into two volumes. (see the link in my signature)

In other news... as it looks like I may be getting my kidney transplant by year's end (my donor has finally met his weight goal... you can read the latest update here: http://www.facebook.com/AlanMillerKi...sisTransplant/ ), I will also be cranking up the VEX engine again myself in early 2017. I have some goals (including something for Christmas, if things happen quicker), but I don't want to prematurely speak. I think everyone will be excited if I meet those long awaited goals. Speaking mainly about the 30 right now.

Chris, would you say those will sound different (better?) on the TD15 compared to TD11 ?

I just bought both Masters Vol1 and Vol2 and played them all on my TD11 : they are incredible! 200% better than the Apex package I installed two weeks ago! Congrats, you did very well!!!

Prob will sound tighter on a TD-15, and little closer to the real source based on the use of compression available on the TD-15. The kick and snare samples available on the TD15 will be closer to the original sound source as well. Over-all, should sound amazing! And thanks for your purchase. Enjoy these fun new sets.

I bought a TD11 only a few months so forgive me for the "newb" question, but there are only 50 kits on the TD11 (25 module and 25 user). So if I bought both these packs, then the kits that come with module would be gone and replaced by the VEX kits, with no room to add others, correct?

They'd be gone if you chose to load all 50 kits. However, they are always available from the module's rom memory; so, not gone forever. Best practice is to make a backup, try all 50 new kits, write down your favorites from all 75-100, then load those most favorite 50 that you'll want to use regularly.

Try VdrumLib to edit after choosing wich kits suit you best. I ended up with 44 kits from Masters1-2, 3 from Apex and 3 from the original presets! And I can change my mind anytime since everything is in my computer!

Just started checking these out (it is 50 new kits, give me a little time). So far they sound great.

Maybe Chris and Alan can start working on a way to squeeze 100+ kits onto the TD11. Because my only problem now is that I have too many great kits and not enough space.

Thanks for working on developing these kits.

Just downloaded these Masters 1-2 expansion kits on to my TD-11...and Wow! They are so much better than previous ones...I don't use any of the stock Roland kits anymore, and I am unlikely now to keep dipping into Apex and such as these newest ones are the absolute best. Well done, VEX!
