  • Have anyone made DIY bass drum??

I searched this site for information ,
I know a lot of people here have made DIY snare and toms , but how about bass drum??

    If I want to build a 12" bass drum , I need:

    (1)drumshell and lugs (leecustom)
    (2)piezo (other than roland,where can I order it ??)
    (3)the hareware (legs, mounts)
    (4)mesh head (roland)
(5)cone (where can I find it??)
(6)anything else?? pls give me some tips.

    Thanks!!

Actually, I was going to do it - I have everything ready (except for shell) - dw style camco lugs, spurs, hoops, lugs, remo muffles,etc... I would let it all go pretty inexpensively - it is all just sitting there...

The hoops are for a 22" drum but the hardware will fit any size drum....

I just use a TriggerPerfect hoop mounted unit and a mesh head on a 22" kick, works fine for me. No need to go through the cone method on the kick.

If you want internal/center triggering all you need is a crossmember and a foam/piezo trigger setup like the simple version on my site (here I go promoting again, sorry ).

Hi drummercat. I think someone around here used a PD-120 and made some sort of mounting apparatus and attached it to the bottom bar of the rack.

I asked leecustom for international order and
          have no luck.....
But today I went to a local piano shop ,
          and found what I need~~~~
          a 16"x16: floor tom cost me only HKD$350 (USD45)~~~
It made in china.....poor quality acoustic drum, but seems not important for me~~~
I am going to cut it to 2 halves for my 2 bass drum~~~~
