  • spd-s question [control lights/fog?]

I play in a band and all the clubs we play do provide sound and lights. However, we do bring in extra foggers, strobe lights, cops lights, etc. Is it possible to control the extras with the strike of one of the pads? I do have a macbook that I could midi to the spd-s. Does anyone know of os x software to do what I'm after?

There are two ways to go. They do make MIDI dimmer packs. I have a few. Set the pad to the same note and whenever you hit it, that channel goes hot. Good for lights, but probably not for strobes and foggers.

The next way is a USB DMX interface and the appropriate software. Do a google serach and see what comes up. I have this setup for Windows.

I had several strobes and police beacons surrounding my drum set. I plugged them all into a six-pack and pressed the switch on/off with my foot when the dance floor got packed.
