  • CY-8 repairable?

    Aloha,

I recently purchased a used td-6v, and found that the choke and edge function on one of the CY-8's is not working. I did a bit of digging through the threads on this site, but aside from seeing what the guts look like I'm not sure if these cymbals are repairable. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

Stupid question probably, but have you made sure you have the correct trigger set for the cymbal in the module (CY Type)?
If yes, then I would say it's barely worth repairing it, better to get an upgrade with a Yamaha pcy130/135 or similar in my opinion.

Uh, that I have not. I'll give it a whirl. Thanks for the help Kev.

Not sure why, but it's workin'

        KevH,

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure what happened, but after I swapped cords the rim trigger began working. It's not a dead cord however, and I had checked the connections more than once. At any rate, it works.
