Aha!, it's the old next number in the list rule.... how could I have missed that SuperBruce to the rescue again - what would we do without him?.... he's an international treasure
ok ok! break it up boys, i don't wanna see a smiling drum and an impatient cat getting all gooey i set it on VH11 and it's kinda ok, set it on VH12 and it's downright weird and tried CY6 and 8 and those seem the same so i'm leaving it on CY8. I do have another question for you clever clogged duo
Right! the VH11 is recommended to be set on to the VH11 trigger yeah? well what makes that hi hat any different to a CY5 and FD8? i mean it's rubber and plastic with a piezo on bow and a rim switch ? so why the special setting with it's own trigger? does it work differently to other cymbals? is it made differently? or just an expensive folly?
Well, first it contains it's own controller. It is also built differently. Subtle changes in design and material can have an effect on triggering and Roland was thoughtful enough to pre-tweak it for you. You could probably set the Trigger to CY-8 and tweak the settings till it works right. But using the VH-11 settings will get you there faster.
Aha! i got ya, different build design = different trigger required as it's a much different animal compared to a CY8 etc yep yeah i saw a schematic of that controller looks very good, i don't think a diy attempt could get that result quite as good. mmm may ditch the diy plan ? dunno
