  • Question about Roland Td-8 [snare tone]

When I play my drums (Roland Td-8) I notice a change in tone on the snare drum. It will sound normal then go to a brighter sound then back to normal again. Has anyone ever have this problem? Will an update fix this problem? I have version 1.03

The TD-8 does have positional sensing with most snare head sounds; perhaps it's that you're hearing? If you don't like the effect you could switch it off with SETUP, MIDI (F2), GLOBAL (F1), PAGE 2 (F2), ZONE CC OFF which would also be a way to find out if that is the cause of the tone change.
