  • Help with Hat Holder compatibility and VH-11 as a 2nd Hi-Hat

    Hi all,

    I have a TD-20X with both Vh-12 and Vh-11.
I would like to put the Vh-11 as a second Hi-hat particularly for half open hi hat sound with "fixed hi hat" on the module.
I look for a compatibility with CHH930 Hat Holder by Yamaha, but i don't know if the rod is long enough (Motion sensor unit + VH-11).
If I not use the Motion Unit the Vh-11 will move too much in my opinion.

    If someone can help me
    what.casino
Thanks and sorry for my bad English

    I use a Tama Hi-Hat Attachment MXA73N
    https://www.tama.com/usa/products/detail/mxa73n_2.html
The original Rod was too short for the VH with the bottom unit and clutch, so I changed the rod. I just bought a Tama Hi-Hat Rod replacement and swapped it out.
    https://www.tama.com/usa/products/detail/hh905-3.html
I then Connected the Hi-Hat to a TMC-6 Input 5 with a FS-5L Locking Footswitch on Input 6 for Hi-Hat Control, and have the ability to switch between closed and half-open with the footswitch.
I documented the configuration in my message (last message) in the TD-20/TMC-6 Sticky

You may be able to change the Rod on the Yamaha CHH930. I don't have experience of that holder.
