  • Yamaha cymbals with Roland td11

I am thinking of swapping the Cy5 hihat cymbal on my Roland TD11k for a Yamaha pcy130sc. I need advice on a) will this work as 2 zone out of the box b) does anyone know or have experience of allowing the 3rd zone of Yamaha cymbals to be used on Roland modules? My Td11 module has 2 stereo plugs for ride a and ride b. Presumably one of these could be the 3rd zone of the yamaha pcy155s 15inch ride cymbal? Thanks in advance for your help

it should work as dual zone crash/hihat cymbal, you cannot use pcy155s as 3-zones on TD-11 [yamaya wired different from roland.]

you can try alesis DM14/DM16, i used them with TD-30 as ride cymbal and it worked fine.

Yes I look at the alesis and they are well priced but are they reliable?
